Paddington Bear

The Paddington bear is a children’s literature character that is set to go down as a classic besides Winnie-the-Pooh and his other friends. Paddington is an anthropomorphized character from Peru. His regular ensemble is an old worn hat that is slightly too big for him, a older carpetbag suitcase, a duffle coat, and a intense love for Marmalade sandwiches. He meets the Brown family and is adopted soon after and always greets individuals very politely with the appropriate Mr. Mrs. And Miss. He tries ever so hard to get things right, but is often muddled on the wrong path, but holding the right intensions.

The first stories of Paddington bear came out in the 1950s and have exploded since then. The bear has been translated into 30 languages and is feature on several continents and in several products. Over 30 million books have been sold worldwide. The bear was made into a toy in 1972. Production could not meet demand and a shortage ensued during the first Christmas of the toy’s introduction. The maker severed ties with her supplier and successfully made the bear’s boots, wellingtons, on her own with bear soles in the base of the shoes. To this date, the toy is still circulated widely in Great Britain and other states with significant fan clubs.
